Famine Declared in Sudan
Famine Declared in Sudan
Ceasefire has been declared in Gaza, but hostilities continue and aid remains restricted. Winter conditions are putting families further at risk as cold weather and flooding damage infrastructure. Unrestricted aid access is urgently needed to stop the spread of famine.
After two years of conflict, humanitarian needs are urgent in Gaza.
We continue to provide support despite challenges and shrinking access.
Hope is a form of existence.”

In March, the total siege of the Strip began, and 60,000 metric tons of aid were blocked.
Now, vital supplies such as food, water, and medicine are trickling in, but are insufficient.
We still have thousands of food parcels at the gates of Gaza.
Life here is not normal. Every day is a fight to find shelter, food and stay alive. If I survive from the bombing today, I will still sleep hungry, afraid, not knowing what will happen next.”

Humanitarian access is extremely limited. Operations are being halted or delayed, and life-saving assistance is often blocked
Every time an evacuation order is issued, I am overwhelmed with anxiety and fear, unsure of what to do and where I could possibly go if I am forced to leave.”

Hunger is being used as a weapon of war.
Gaza has officially been in Phase 5 (Famine) of the Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) since August, and families are suffering.
Action Against Hunger teams documented a 700% increase in cases of child malnutrition between October 2023 and July 2025.
The famine affects families and aid workers alike.
But as humanitarian workers, we do not have the privilege to collapse. We have to keep going, not for ourselves, but for our people, because if we stop helping them, then who will?”

Action Against Hunger is once again calling for a ceasefire to provide life-saving aid.
The famine must be stopped now.
Humanity cannot look the other way.
