Monthly Donors:

Monetary Donations:

Action Against Hunger accepts donations through a variety of methods and tools. If you have questions about what kinds of donations we accept or how to make your donation, visit our Ways to Give page.

Receipts and more:

If you need a donation receipt or have another question about donating, please contact our Donor Services team. You may also manage your receipts through our Giving App.

Food and Physical Goods:

We are not able to accept donations of food or other goods. The cost of storing, shipping, and distributing goods internationally is exceptionally high and requires a lot of time and complicated logistics. We strive to source all of our program supplies as locally as possible to reduce costs and to reserve more time and money for saving lives.

Companies and Foundations:

We accept donations from companies and organizations that want to impact the fight against hunger. Check out Ways to Give.

For official partnerships, as much as we would like to work with all the compassionate companies that reach out to us, we have limited resources to fulfill all partnership needs. We can only partner contractually with organizations that can donate a minimum of $50,000 or more annually. Contact our Partnerships Team for more details.

Restricted Donations:

Some donors may want to donate in response to a specific emergency or to support a specific country program. Unfortunately, we cannot restrict donations below $25,000, as the operational cost of doing so is not financially efficient. We strive to use your donations wisely to help as many of those in need as possible.

Demonstrating strong financial accounting and responsibility is one reason we have received a coveted 4-star rating on Charity Navigator for nearly two decades. We encourage you to make your donation unrestricted, which will give us the flexibility to support our emergency responses while also providing support to our core nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene, and livelihood programs.

How do I apply for a grant, funding, or assistance from Action Against Hunger?

Action Against Hunger is not a grant-providing organization. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to operate our projects, programs, and operations. We do not accept proposals for funding from organizations, projects, or individuals.

We are not able to field inquiries regarding providing assistance to specific entities or individuals/families at this time.

We do not have in-person volunteer opportunities with Action Against Hunger USA, but you can take action to help in many ways. If you’d like to host a fundraiser, visit Fundraise Against Hunger.

If you are doing research for a paper or school project, please search the resources on our website. Unfortunately, we cannot field inquiries regarding student research at this time.

I would like to request a refund on a donation.

We rely on our supporters to help save lives and tackle hunger around the world. Generally, a donation to Action Against Hunger is not refundable, like all charitable donations. Decisions on refunds will be made on a case-by-case basis upon a justified request from the donor and are considered based on the below specific circumstances:

We will refund your donation if an error was made by Action Against Hunger.
We will refund your donation if the donation was made unknowingly, for example, if a donation was made with a stolen or lost card.
We will refund your donation if you have accidentally entered the wrong amount.
We will refund your donation if you have accidentally created a monthly donation when you intended to make a one-off donation.
We may refund in other similar exceptional circumstances.

To request a refund of your donation made to Action Against Hunger, please fill out our contact form and request a refund within 30 days after the donation date, including if you wish to request a refund for a monthly donation. As your donation is used immediately to address acute hunger and malnutrition in the countries where we work, Action Against Hunger will not be able to refund any donations beyond 30 days.

We can only issue a refund to the same card or account from which the donation was made. This includes all credit and debit card payments, PayPal, direct debit, and all other payment methods currently available on our website.

If you wish to request a refund, please fill out our contact form and provide:

Your first and last name
The email address provided when making the donation
Your country of residence
Your phone number
Donation date
Donation amount
Payment method
All relevant circumstances justifying your request

Once we receive this request and all the information above, we will review your request and endeavor to respond to you within two business days. If your request is accepted, we will process the refund as soon as possible. Please note that a refund may take 10-14 business days to reach your account.
