At Action Against Hunger, we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for everyone we work with, especially the communities we serve. Our Safeguarding Policy underscores our dedication to preventing, addressing, and eliminating all forms of harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Core Principles of Safeguarding:

Zero Tolerance: We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any behavior that constitutes harm, abuse, sexual exploitation, or neglect. Such actions are contrary to our values and mission and will be met with appropriate disciplinary actions.

Safe Environment: We strive to ensure that safe, appropriate, accessible means of reporting Safeguarding concerns are made available to staff, Associated Personnel, Partners, suppliers, and the communities with whom we work. Complaints and reporting mechanisms will be developed in consultation with communities to ensure appropriate, relevant, safe, and confidential means of channeling Safeguarding concerns are in place.

Confidentiality: The confidentiality and protection of those who report harassment or abuse are paramount. All reports will be handled sensitively and with the utmost discretion.

Inclusivity and Respect: Our policies are inclusive, considering the diverse needs and backgrounds of our community members and employees. Respect for others is fundamental, and we expect everyone associated with Action Against Hunger to uphold these standards.

Education and Awareness: We are committed to continuous training and education to ensure all members of our community understand their rights and responsibilities under this policy. Regular training sessions are held to reinforce our commitment to these standards and to educate our team on prevention and response strategies.

We believe that everyone associated with Action Against Hunger deserves to work and interact in an environment free from fear, harm, and disrespect. This policy is a cornerstone of our commitment to uphold these values and ensure the dignity of every individual is respected.
