Famine Declared in Sudan
Famine Declared in Sudan
Libya is making gradual progress towards stability despite political rivalries and external interference, but the humanitarian situation remains concerning, especially after the 2023 floods. Vulnerable populations continue to face limited access to healthcare, drinking water, and sanitation services, which contributes to worsening food insecurity.
Before the closure of our country office in July 2024 due to funding challenges, our teams were active in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha. We completed our emergency response to Storm Daniel in March 2024, which included supporting the population with mental health awareness sessions and hygiene promotion. We also delivered capacity-building activities, including health-related training for staff. Despite the challenges encountered, Action Against Hunger had a positive impact on local communities and ensured that essential services continued to be provided until our office closure.
